Posted January 21, 2009, but back-dated. I’m late on this roundup – a year late, actually. I started writing up roundups in February of 2008, so never wrote up January. But as I’m doing a year-end roundup, I’ve been trying to get this all in order.
Interesting to reflect on what I was doing a year ago. This site was really quite differently structured, and I spent most of the month writing personal reflections about the girl that I was (really, really) into.
Relationships/Sex:
- I was dating Datedyke this past month, and wrote up various stories and thoughts on her and us: Under my radar, in which there is a hurdle, except when it does, your love will not be light and gay, tear you apart, busy practicalities, how much my heart can take (a romantic music mix CD), the hurricane between us, this is how she sleeps (a pretty poem).
- I also wrote The Houseboy’s Rebellion, a fiction story for Datedyke, which I especially like and was the Editor’s Pick on Sugasm #115.
- Whispers, after was another particularly powerful piece I wrote for Datedyke, and I also recorded an audio version of it which you can download here if you’d like to hear me read it.
In other news:
- Sugarbutch was nominated for the Lesbian Lifestyle Blog of the Year award! I didn’t win (Dorothy Surrenders did), but what an honor to be included.
