Hey You! Want To Bring Me To Your Town?

September 13, 2011  |  miscellany

Dear friends & fans & folks who just happened across this website and have no idea who I am:

As I gaze longingly at my ever-filling fall and spring schedule, I can’t help but wonder: Is there somewhere I’m missing? Is there somewhere I should be aiming to go that I don’t even know about yet?

That’s where you come in. Where would you like me to travel this year? Do you have any contacts for colleges, arts venues, spoken word nights, queer/feminist toy shops, or queer/feminist bookstores in your area that you’d just love to help me book?

I’ve got quite a few workshops aimed at college students and ready for community centers and toy shops, like “Radical & Responsible Gender” and the acclaimed “Fucking with Gender,” and I’d love to get out there and meet more of you, chat, learn about what’s going on, and talk to you about my ideas for all of this stuff.

If you have any thoughts about where you’d like to see me perform, or what kind of workshops you’d like me to do, I would love your input.

Your buddy,

Sinclair

  1. ummmmm. Toronto please. :D

  2. *sigh* the south never does get any love.

i know, i know, you’ll be at sxsw – and i can’t really complain, as i’m not putting forward the effort to get you here! so, a more relevant question: are you planning on going to creating change? i believe it’s in baltimore this (next) year, and i’m hoping to (finally) make it.

    • the sxsw date was 2010, so I won’t be there this time. I am trying to get to a few places southward (austin, durham, new orleans) but I don’t have a lot of contacts down there—let’s talk!

I haven’t planned on creating change (yet) but I should add it to the calendar. it’d be lovely to see you again!

  3. Please pretty please consider coming to Pomona College in Claremont, CA! I’m sure the Women’s Union (open to all genders) and the Queer Resource Center would both be delighted to have you visit. I don’t work at either place, sadly, so I’m not super-useful to network with, but I would attend any workshop you offered.

  4. ummmm… there is a whole country directly to the North of you just waiting to be explored…

I can probably connect you in the centre and on the West Coast – if you have any interest.

  5. What does “private training” mean when you are in Seattle?

    • It means I’m attending a training, so I’ll be there, and I’m looking for gigs around that time. I hope to visit the UW at least, that’s in progress. If I get a public event I will announce it here & on the appearances page definitely.

  6. If you could come to Mills college in Oakland that would be awesome.

  7. I hope you can find a gig while you’re in Seattle. If not, would seeing you around town be out of the question? Capitol Hill is gay-tastic!

  8. Jeri—maybe! I am working on a gig and I think I’ll do *something* at least. I went to college there and I love that town, I look forward to being back there!
