Review: Jaguar Harness

jaguarEveryone rants and raves about the Jaguar harness by Aslan Leather – and I get it, I do: the leather is beautiful, it’s incredibly well-made, it feels like a buttery second skin. It’s snug, it adjusts well and easily, stays in place, it feels pretty good to wear – I could keep going with the general praise. You might just love this harness, many people do.

Personally, though, I just prefer one-strap harnesses, so I’m not crazy about this one.

Here’s the thing: I don’t really like my harness to feel like I’m wearing underwear. Maybe it’s because I came across the Barely There harness when I started packing and it feels practically like wearing nothing (except a cock), but I just don’t like the feel of that much material between me and my cock (and a girl). I start feeling frustrated that I can’t get closer.

Here’s the other thing: I can (sometimes – rarely, it seems, these days) get off myself while strapped on and fucking. But the key to this – for me – is pressure against my clit, and a one-strap harness that runs right between my legs is the way to get it. Even if I don’t come (which seems these days I don’t, but that’s another post) I still love the sensation, the pressure and stimulation right at the right spot. Two-strap harnesses don’t do this for me, so I feel all the more disconnected from the fuck.

I adore Aslan Leather in general and I recommend this harness often to folks who ask for help picking one out. It is gorgeous, so well-crafted. If only Aslan made a one-strap version (with thinner straps!) I’d snatch it up quicker than you could say “Jameson rocks.”

Do you have this harness? What do you think?

I have the jaguar in white leather (it's hot) and while I can get off with it, I think that is more a product of the cock I use rather than anything special about the harness. Sometimes though I think that the harness is just a bit more 'faggy' than I feel. Mostly I just wish there were nothing between me and my cock. Don't get me wrong, the harness is sexy, I just think my girlfriend looks better in it.

i have this harness. i don't generally wear it, though, so the most of a review i guess i can offer is – it's sexy! really, really yum. well made too. but i can certainly see where something a little more…discreet would be nice. indeed, that's kind of what we're in the market for at the moment.

I actually love this harness for just that reason–I can usually get off! I've never tried a one strap though, so it's tough to compare. I think what does it is the placement of the base of the cock (helped by the ring). I use a cock with a bullet vibe in it, which rubs against my clit and equals really great orgasms almost all of the time. I don't even need to turn the bullet on–just being there is usually enough. I was so excited when I discovered I could come this way–amazing.

that's interesting. i have the opposite feeling about harnesses. i want them to resemble regular items of clothing as much as possible, so i can just pull my dick out of my pants and not feel like i need special accessories to do so. that's why i like the spare parts harness so much – it just looks like a slightly fancy jock strap (and i wear jock straps to keep my soft packer in place, so that feels pretty normal). stormy leather makes a harness that looks like a pair of spandex shorts, which i'm interested in, but i'm not sure it'll be sturdy enough.

I only got to use the Jaguar once and liked it a lot – to me it felt like I wasn't wearing much of anything at all, it looks really hot, and *supposedly* the lack of material below the O-ring is supposed to give you more connection? I don't really know where I heard that from.

Hmm. Still not sure what the difference btw 1 and 2-strap is. Wouldn't 1-strap be *less* comfortable? …Maybe I should buy a Commando instead.

i have this harness, and i like it. the 'barely there' one strap was actually painful for me to wear… i did get off once or twice wearing it, but overall, the discomfort of that one strap outweighed any pleasure. so i really like how comfortable the jaguar is; despite the overall bulk, it's comfortable enough on me i can forget it's there. i've packed with it, too, and not found much to complain about except the the buckles which do get a little, um, prominent after a while. sometimes i put the two straps together and it's almost like a one-strap harness but in a way that's much more comfortable for me than 'barely there' was.

i've gotten off a number of times wearing this harness, though as you said, it's not a certainty by any means. i'd be very interested to read your thoughts, generally, on getting off via fucking while strapped on. i love it when it works about but the technical obstacles can be high, in my experience, while the range of emotiona/sexual issues it brings up… well, like you said, worth its own post.

I have a Pretty Boi, which is a two-strap model very similar to the Jaguar (except it has a more charming name, imo). I enjoy the two-strap since my girlfriend and I usually switch topping and bottoming, and I'd prefer to not to have fiddle with the straps during sex. I've never used a one-strap, but I guess I just assumed it would get in the way of its wearer getting fucked? I suppose if you aren't really into switching, though, that's not an issue. I like to keep my options open :)

Also, I find if I a) wear the harness low enough on my hips and b) use a dildo with a suction cup base, the cup will suction over my clit while I'm penetrating my girl, which is, well, awesome. Has nothing to do with how many straps it is, but more of style of wear thing.

mr. sexsmith, do you have a (few) recommendation(s) for a 'pack and play' harness? i like the jaguar a lot, but that is one thing it is certainly not, with the buckles and thick leather. and i know you're the expert =)
